Find Duplicates Actions

OneMerge Find Duplicates Actions

Within the Find Duplicates feature, there is the ability to be able to perform certain Actions. This article goes through each one in turn.

Once a list of results has been returned in the right panel, you have the choice of the following:

  • Save Duplicate Record Set
  • Merge Now
  • Merge UI

Save Duplicate Record Set

When results are displayed in the right hand panel, if a Duplicate Record Set (DRS) is not already displayed, you have the option to create one here (once you are happy it should be a DRS). You can do this by selecting the drop down next to the group individually, or by selecting the Create Duplicate Record Sets button if more than one DRS needs to be created.

Once you have done this, a DRS link is created which when clicked will redirect you to the Duplicate Record Sets tab and the detail for the group created.

Merge Now

If you are happy that the Duplicate Record Set is indeed a group of Records that should be Merged, then you have the option to do this in one of two ways. You can either Merge Now, or visit the Merge UI. Clicking the Merge Now will Merge the Records and create a Master Record based upon the Merge Ruleset and Merge Rule Settings.

Merge UI

The Merge UI provides the ability to be able to review each field within the Duplicate Record Set and either change, edit or leave the selected value as it is. The defaults re based upon the Merge Ruleset and Merge Rules Settings, so the Master Record will also be selected.

There is also the ability to be able to ‘Catch-all’ which will include any values in fields that are not part of the Merge Rules and retain on the Master Record. Clicking the Merge Now button will Merge the group and create the Master Record.
