Moving fields between Merge Rules

This article, moving fields between Merge Rules, introduces the new Feature for OneMerge, Merge Rule Setup. A separate tab within OneMerge Free Edition, Standard and Enterprise Editions, providing a simplistic view of the Merge Rulesets and Merge Rules configured. After implementing OneMerge, there are standard Merge Rulesets and Rules pre-configured for Accounts, Contacts and Leads. Merge Rule Setup feature provides the ability to be able to amend these by adding more fields to existing Merge Rules, move fields to different Merge Rules or create new Merge Rules. As a result, this provides a simple and smooth way to amend, create or update Merge Rules.

The following demo provides an overview of how to move a field from one Merge Rule to a different Merge Rule, using the Merge Rule Setup feature in OneMerge Standard and Enterprise Editions.

Test Scenario

1. Click on the Merge Rule Setup tab.
2. Select the Merge Ruleset dropdown.
3. Select Standard Merge Ruleset for Accounts.
4. Select the Merge Rule dropdown.
5. Select the Billing Address Merge Rule.
6. Select the Billing City field.
7. Select the drop down and Edit Merge Rule Field.
8. Select Merge Rule Shipping Address.
9. Select Save.

When you now filter and select the Shipping Address Merge Rule from the dropdown, the Billing City will be displayed in the list of fields associated with the Merge Rule. You can also validate this by checking the Home Page (Screenshot below) and the Merge Rulesets displayed in the Status Column.
