How to Setup Sum of Numeric Values

This article, OneMerge Numeric Values Rule’ aims to give step-by-step instructions on how to create Merge Rule fields for a Merge Rule. In this case, the field is a numeric value, and the Master Record must add all values from child records. A numeric field could have multiple values on child records, and these values all need adding and appending to the Master Record. The following steps explain how to create a Numeric Value Merge Rule.

Option 1 – Guided Setup Standard and Enterprise Edition

Follow these steps to create Merge Rules:

  1. From the OneMerge Application Home page, click Guided Setup in the footer.
  2. On the first screen, you should select the Setup Action Manage Merge Rulesets. Click the Next button (as shown below).
  3. On the next screen, select Standard Merge Rulesets for Accounts , click Edit the Selected Setting and click the Next button.
  4. On the next screen select Manage Merge Rules, and click the Next button.
  5. The next screen displays a list of the existing Merge Rules for the Salesforce Object, click Manage Merge Rule Fields and the Next button.
  6. On the next screen, click Create New and the Next Button.
  7. On the next screen, enter the Merge Rule Field details, ensure ‘Is Sum Numeric Values?’ checkbox is ticked and click the Next button (as shown below).
  8. Click on Save, the next screen displays a validation table.

The Numeric Values Merge Rule has been successfully setup. The ‘Is active?’ checkbox must be ticked to activate the Merge Rule.
