How to Create Matching Filter Items

The purpose of this article, OneMerge Matching Filter Item, is to provide step-by-step instructions for creating Matching Filter Items for a given Salesforce Object. Matching Filter Items define filter conditions to be applied to the records processed by OneMerge Matching Jobs.

Option 1 – Guided Setup

To create Matching Filter Items, follow these steps:  

  1. From the OneMerge Application Home page, click Guided Setup in the footer.
  2. On the first screen select the Setup Action Manage Matching Filters (Enterprise Edition), and click the Next button (as shown below).
  3. The next screen will display any existing Matching Filters, select the Matching Filter and click Manage Filter Items, click the Next button.
  4. On the next screen, click Create New and click the Next Button.
  5. On the next screen, enter the Matching Filter Item details, click Continue and click the Next button.
  6. On the next screen, click Save and click the Next button.
  7. The next screen displays a validation table, click the Finish button.

Option 2 – Custom Metadata Types

  1. Open the Salesforce Setup menu.
  2. Select Custom Code>Custom Metatdata Types.
  3. Click the Manage Records Matching Filter Items link.
  4. Click the New button (the screen displayed should be as below).
  5. Enter the Matching Filter Item details and click on the Save button.
  6. Click the Save button.

Additional Information 

  • Matching Filter = Search for the Matching Filter this Filter Item relates to  
  • Label = The name of the Matching Filter Item 
  • Matching Filter Item Name = Automatically populated with the API name 
  • Is Active? = This needs ticking to become active  

Field Information  

  • Field Name = The API name of the field  
  • Operator = Equals or Not Equals  
  • Field Value = This is the value of the referenced field 

In this example we are going to setup a Matching Filter Item for Accounts that are not created today: 

  • Matching Filter   = Standard Matching Filter for Accounts 
  • Label = Account Created Today 
  • Matching Filter Item Name = Account_Created_Today 
  • Is Active? = TRUE 
  • Field Name = CreatedDate 
  • Operator = NotEquals 
  • Field Value = Today 

A Matching Filter Item has been setup and associated with the Matching Filter.
