OneMerge Trial

OneMerge is available from the Salesforce AppExchange as a preconfigured Trial Org or for installation into your own Salesforce Org. OneMerge trial licenses are activated for 7 days. The video shown above provides an overview of the preconfigured Trial Org and demonstrates three example test scenarios which you can utilise in your evaluation.

The notes below provide additional trial support information.

Get a Trial Org

OneMerge is available for (7 day) trial purposes via our Salesforce AppExchange listing in 2 ways;

(1) Preconfigured Trial Org (Recommended).

A preconfigured trial which includes the test records referenced in the exemplar test scenarios covered in the Getting Started with the One Merge Trial video and also described below.

(2) Installation into your Org (Sandbox only for trial purposes).

Alternatively, our Release Notes page provides the package version installation link for the latest release.

Trial Org Configuration

The notes below relate specifically to the configuration of the Preconfigured Trial Orgs provisioned from the OneMerge AppExchange listing.

1. Duplicate Management.

Standard Matching Rules are activated (including Person Account and Account).

Standard Duplicate Rules are activated (including Person Account and Account).

Note: all Duplicate Rules are configured with the Report option ticked for both Operations On Create and Operations On Edit; this is mandatory for OneMerge merge automation.

2. OneMerge Merge Configuration.

The out-of-the box merge configurations (i.e. Merge Rulesets) for the standard objects are unaltered.

3. Salesforce Configuration.

The OneMerge App has been set as the default for the System Administrator profile.

Test Scenarios

The following example test scenarios are provided to help with the trial evaluation process. Please note that the test records referenced are created by default in Preconfigured Trial Orgs only.

Scenario 1. Real-time merge for duplicate Person Accounts.

1.1. Open the Lupita Alonso Person Account test record.
You can see that the Mobile number is +34 800 300 888.

(Please save the record to generate the Match Key used by Salesforce Matching Rules. This step is required as the keys are missing by default on existing records generated in trial Salesforce orgs.)

1.2. Create a duplicate Person Account record as below.
Name = Lupita Alonso
Email = Lupita.Alonso@trial.onemerge.co.uk
Phone = +34 800 300 777
Mobile = +34 800 300 999
Mailing Address = Paseo de la Castellana,79,28046,Madrid,Spain

You should see a Duplicate warning, this can be ignored.
Click Save.

1.3 Open the Merge Requests tab and there should be a new Merge Request at Completed status.

1.4. Open the original (and master) Lupita Alonso Person Account test record.

The mobile has now changed to the value from the duplicate (as the most recent).

Scenario 2. Data Stewarded merge for duplicate Person Accounts.

2.1. Open the original (and master) Lupita Alonso Person Account test record.
You can see that the customer record is not flagged as an Elite loyalty programme member.

2.2. Create a duplicate Person Account record as below.
Name = Lupita Alonso
Email = Lupi@trial.onemerge.co.uk
Phone = +34 800 300 777
Mobile = +34 800 300 111
Is Elite = ticked
Elite Membership Number = 100100100

You should see a Duplicate warning, this can be ignored.
Click Save.

2.3. Open the Duplicate Record Sets tab.

You can see that a new Duplicate Record Set has been generated but has not merged.

This means that Data Stewarding is required.

2.4. Open the Duplicate Record Set.

2.5 Edit the Merge Decision field (Data Stewarding Information Section) and select Accept.

Click Save.

2.6. Open the original (and master) Lupita Alonso Person Account test record.

The Elite Loyalty Programme fields have now changed to the values from duplicate (as the most recent).

Scenario 3. Custom merge for duplicate Business Accounts.

3.1. Open the Fabrikam test record.
You can see that the record has a blank Last Merged Date.

(Please save the record to generate the Match Key used by Salesforce Matching Rules. This step is required as the keys are missing by default on existing records generated in trial orgs.)

3.2. Create a duplicate Business Account record as below.
Name = Fabrikam Inc
Phone = +1 100 100 2000
Billing City = Deerfield Beach

You should see a Duplicate warning, this can be ignored.
Click Save.

3.3. Open the Accounts tab and the “OneMerge Trial” List View.

You should see that both Fabrikam accounts are listed and both have a Last Merged Date value.

3.4. Open the original (and master) Fabrikam test record (Billing Country is USA).

The Source Accounts related list on the Related sub-tab should show the duplicate record.

3.5. Open the duplicate Fabrikam record from the Source Accounts related list.

You should see that the Master Account field (OneMerge Information section) points to the winning account.

Note, future changes to the losing record will be synchronised to the winner via evaluation of the merge rules.
