Salesforce Account Merge

Salesforce Account Merge using OneMerge Manual UI

Merging Duplicate Records in OneMerge can be an Automated Process or can be processed Manually. This demo shows the Salesforce Account Merge using OneMerge Manual Merge UI feature, accessed through Find Duplicates.

Test Scenario

  1. Navigate to the Find Duplicates Tab.
  2. Select the Salesforce Object, Account.
  3. Leave the default values for Order By (Created Date) and Order (Descending).
  4. Select the Field ‘Account Name‘.
  5. Leave the default value for ‘Operator’ to ‘Equals’.
  6. In this example, in the ‘Value’ field enter ‘Fabrikam Inc’.
  7. Click on the Add button.
  8. Click on the Find button.

A list of Duplicate Records and Duplicate Record Sets for ‘Fabrikam Inc’ are displayed. Within the UI you can expand and view how many are listed. You can then, from the dropdown, select the Merge UI option, which will allow you to compare each record, field by field, and determine which should be the Master Record. (Note: If a Duplicate Record Set is not displayed, you can create a duplicate record set in the dropdown, before viewing Merge UI).

  1. Select the Merge UI (In this example, the Duplicate Record Set has already been created).
  2. Within the Merge UI , you can specify which Record should be the Master Record (the default is as specified in the Merge Ruleset for Accounts).
  3. You can also specify which field values should be used (the defaults are the Merge Rules setup for Accounts).
  4. Click on the Merge Now button.

The Master Record is displayed along with the Merge Rule Lineage, and the field values as defined in the Merge UI. The Merge can be rolled back by selecting the Merge Result and Rollback option.
